Workshop Transformed into Office Space! Industrial-Style Entrance Design Details

I. Design Background:
“The client said: Before the headquarters building is finished, set up a temporary office in this machine workshop first!”
Faced with a massive 7,000㎡ workshop with 6-meter-high ceilings and industrial equipment everywhere, we zeroed in on the 4-meter-tall freight entrance — a “black hole” big enough for trucks to pass through — and were determined to transform it into an office entrance that balances both function and aesthetics! We had to preserve the raw, gritty DNA of the old factory while injecting a modern office aesthetic. This spatial magic show was about to begin…

✨ II. Four Clever Design Tricks:

💡 [Trick 1: The Spatial Illusion of Old Meets New]
▫️ Removed the original canopy and appropriately enlarged the opening
▫️ Left the transom windows largely untouched, minimized changes to the exterior façade
▫️ Used aluminum panels to create a dialogue between old and new
The ruggedness of industrial style collides dramatically with the refinement of modernity!

💡 [Trick 2: The Metamorphosis of the Gas Pipeline]
When a massive gas pipe loomed over the left side of the foyer —
▫️ Designed a 3D grille wrap-around: 0.5cm ultra-narrow gaps to ensure ventilation
▫️ Embedded linear LED strips to create ribs of light
A dead corner instantly turned into a cyberpunk art installation!

💡 [Trick 3: The Stealth Invasion of Brand Colors]
Borrowed that classic orange from the client’s VI manual —
▫️ Used the brand orange for the canopy edge trim
▫️ Installed lights on the side faces of the steps
The brand DNA has quietly claimed the visual spotlight!

💡 [Trick 4: A Grand Entrance Ritual Package]
▫️ Floating staircase: recessed floor lights + staggered podocarpus trees
▫️ Brand logo light concealed beneath the canopy: dual-personality — translucent glow on sunny days / rippling reflection on rainy days
▫️ Added logo spotlights on the ground
Walking in and out every day feels like striding down a star-studded red carpet!

💬 III. Design Reflection:
“A transitional space should never be a mere background actor in architecture.”
It suddenly dawned on me: the so-called fusion of old and new
is about brewing the scars of time into the poetry of space.

🚀 IV. Summary:
This “temporary” entrance foyer, transformed in just 36 days,
ultimately became the physical calling card of the company’s culture.
When the morning sunlight filters through the preserved trusses,
casting geometric shadows on the VI orange wall,
perhaps that is the true meaning of renovation —
allowing every soul that passes through
to touch the warmth of the space.
