Street Food Signage Design Case: POTATO NOODLE CLAY POT

Street Food Signage Design Case: POTATO NOODLE CLAY POT

Project Overview

This case study presents the casual street-food signage and facade design for “POTATO NOODLE CLAY POT”, a lively quick-service eatery. The design captures the energetic, approachable spirit of street food culture while maintaining a clean, organized visual presence suitable for a commercial storefront. The goal was to create a sign system that communicates speed, flavor, and accessibility at a glance.

Design Concept

The conceptual direction embraces the playful, bold nature of street food branding. Large-scale typography dominates the facade, using a custom display typeface with rounded edges and confident weight that feels both friendly and authoritative. The color scheme draws from fresh ingredients—warm potato gold, fresh herb green, and rich clay brown—creating an appetizing visual association before customers even read the menu. Supporting graphic elements include stylized illustrations of the signature dishes, adding visual interest and communicating the menu offering at a distance.

The layout is organized in clear visual zones: the primary brand name at eye level in maximum size, a secondary descriptor line identifying the cuisine type, and smaller supplementary messaging for operational details. This hierarchy ensures immediate brand recognition even from across the street.

Material & Fabrication

The main signage uses digitally printed vinyl graphics applied to a smooth aluminum composite panel substrate, providing a cost-effective solution with excellent color saturation and weather resistance. Dimensional acrylic letters with a gloss finish are layered over the printed background for the primary brand name, adding tactile depth. The letters are front-illuminated with energy-efficient LED modules, ensuring nighttime visibility without excessive light pollution.

The facade itself features a durable painted finish compatible with the brand colors, and the window graphics use perforated vinyl that maintains outward visibility while displaying branding. All materials are selected for ease of cleaning and long-term performance in a high-traffic food service environment.

Installation Results

The completed installation delivers an energetic street-food storefront that stands out in a competitive dining district. The bold signage captures foot traffic effectively, with the combination of large-scale graphics and dimensional lettering creating visual impact at multiple viewing distances. Customer feedback indicates the sign successfully communicates the casual, delicious nature of the concept, directly contributing to walk-in traffic and brand recall.
